Happy Holidays from Visit Cook County!
We're having a party! Stop by and say hello to the Visit Cook County team TODAY Wednesday, December 14 between 3:30-5:30pm. We'd love to celebrate another year of great success and holiday cheer with you!
We decided to put together a little photo from the team and of course, we all wanted to include the extended furry family.
Left to Right: Kjersti Vick with Loki, Suzanne Weber with Charlotte, Linda Jurek with Annie, Katie Krantz with Letty, Anna Klobuchar, with Zamboni & Rocco, Molly O'Neill with Asha & Loch, Maggie Barnard with Harper. Missing from this photo are Judy Boots, Carolyn Higgins, Dan Helmerson, Alicia Kangas, and Bill Wehesler.
As this year draws to close, I am reminded to be thankful. It has been another year of fantastic growth in Cook County tourism. I hear both sides of this story; how the growth can bring opportunities and how it can also overwhelm. We came to the conclusion that a more quiet time is okay and in fact, it's marketable. We bring you Dark Sky Season and Hygge. What is hygge (pronounched hoo-gah)? Check it out here:
And while some folks are grateful for less demanding times, our marketing team is already meeting and planning our spring, summer and fall campaigns for 2017. My goals for next year include better education of just what it is that we do. For instance, we will regularly share our bi-monthly marketing reports.
You can check out the most recent report here: Marketing Report 12-14
I also want to better explain how we collect lodging tax and the appropriate uses. Exciting graphics will be part of this education :)
We are already embracing changes for the New Year as we welcome Molly O’Neill to our team as Administrative Manager. She will replace Sue Weber who will be retiring. Although we are sad to see Sue go, we are very excited to have Molly join us. Molly’s responsibilities fall into the finance component of our workforce along with all things human resources related.
Feel free to stop by our offices any time. Happy New Year to all!
